Some events are more than just car shows. They’re institutions. They carry decades of history, community, and passion in every registration card, trophy, and handshake between enthusiasts who have been showing up year after year for the love of the blue oval. Fabulous Fords Forever is one of those events. And in 2027, it’s making its triumphant return.
Where It All Started
The story of Fabulous Fords Forever begins on April 15, 1984, with a single idea and a parking lot full of Mustangs. The Mustang Jamboree was created to celebrate the Mustang’s 20th anniversary, and it drew more than 500 Mustangs and hundreds of other Ford-powered vehicles to Southern California. The response was overwhelming. It proved that demand existed for a permanent, annual all-Ford celebration on the West Coast.
The Ford Car Club Council was organized with participating clubs, and in 1985 the Fabulous Fords Forever name was selected. The first official event took place at Knott’s Berry Farm on April 13, 1986, drawing 1,324 registered vehicles. From that moment, Fabulous Fords Forever grew into one of the largest and most respected all-Ford shows in the country. Over the decades it moved through iconic Southern California venues including Knott’s Berry Farm, Angel Stadium, and Irwindale Speedway, building a loyal following with every passing year.
Then, in 2024, Irwindale Speedway closed its doors. Fabulous Fords Forever was left without a home.

The Search for a New Home
Finding a new venue worthy of Fabulous Fords Forever was not a simple task. The search took more than seven months. Many potential venues across Southern California were considered and evaluated.
The team needed a venue that was centrally located, large enough to host thousands of Ford enthusiasts and hundreds of show vehicles, available on the right dates, and capable of supporting an expanded vision for the event. After an exhaustive search, one venue rose to the top. Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California.
Santa Anita Park checks every box. It sits in a central Southern California location accessible to enthusiasts from across the region. It offers the space needed to host the full event and then some. And critically, it provides room to grow Fabulous Fords Forever beyond a traditional car show into something even more ambitious.

A Partnership Built to Last
Securing a venue was only part of the story. Earlier in 2026, POWER Automotive Media, Mustang Week, and the Ford Car Club Council announced a long-term partnership to preserve, operate, and grow Fabulous Fords Forever for years to come.
POWER Automotive Media is one of the most respected names in automotive enthusiast media. They publish some of the most widely read performance and enthusiast titles in the industry and bring deep experience in event production, sponsorship, and reaching car enthusiasts at a national and global scale. Their involvement signals that Fabulous Fords Forever has the operational and financial foundation it needs to thrive.
Mustang Week brings multi-day event experience, operational infrastructure, sponsorship resources, and national marketing reach to the partnership. Having produced and grown Mustang Week into one of the premier Ford enthusiast events in the country, the Mustang Week team understands what it takes to build an event that the community comes back to year after year.
The Ford Car Club Council, which represents 51 member clubs, brings something that cannot be manufactured or imported. They bring the event’s history, its traditions, its relationships, and its deep connection to the Southern California Ford community. The Council and its clubs have been central to Fabulous Fords Forever throughout its entire history, and that does not change. Their role in the development and support of the 2027 event is a critical part of what makes this partnership work.
This is not Fabulous Fords Forever being taken over or reinvented. It is Fabulous Fords Forever being protected, strengthened, and set up for the next chapter of its story.

What to Expect in 2027
Fabulous Fords Forever in partnership with Mustang Week West Coast takes place Wednesday July 28 through Saturday July 31, 2027. The main event days are Friday, July 30 and Saturday, July 31, running from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM both days at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. Wednesday and Thursday will feature events at other locations as well as provide opportunities for club-hosted activities throughout Southern California. These could include cruises, meetups, regional gatherings, scenic drives, and vehicle-specific gatherings that bring the broader Ford community together in the days leading up to the main show.
The 2027 event marks the 39th Fabulous Fords Forever, and the vision for it extends well beyond a traditional car show. The goal is a four-day West Coast Ford experience that celebrates the entire Ford community. Every Ford Motor Company nameplate, generation, and vehicle category is welcome. Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Edsel, Mustang, Bronco, trucks, SUVs, classics, modern performance vehicles, race cars, restored and custom builds, and specialty vehicles from Shelby, Saleen, Roush, RTR, and beyond all have a place at Santa Anita Park in 2027.
