Exclamation 2018 Track Day @ MB Speedway LOGISTICS

The MW Staff has again spent a lot of time thinking about the logistics of our Wednesday event at Myrtle Beach Speedway. This has become one of our most popular events. For time/cost info, please see the thread for the event. This post is to let you all know about our plans for parking and entrance/exit for both the Autocross and the Fun Runs this year. Please look closely at each drawing and read the associated text. This should help keep things moving, but not without your help. We need everyone to exercise patience at all of our events to help maintain flow.

**Like last year, we will be implementing a mandatory "break" every hour on the hour inside the Speedway. Each hour we will sound a siren that will mark a five minute break in the action in the infield. All cars will be stopped and all engines will be shut down. This will allow a 5 minute safe time for spectators to cross from the stands to the infield. It will also allow the MB Speedway Staff and the MW Staff a chance to make any important announcements while it is quite. Thanks for your understanding!

    Entering MB Speedway
The Speedway is located just west of SC 31 on US 501 near the Tanger Factory Outlets. If you are only spectating and not taking your car into the Speedway, you will be parking outside the track. As reminder, you will have an opportunity to walk into the infield to visit sponsors and get a view from track-level as well as sitting in the stands. If you are participating in either the Fun Runs, Autocross, and/or the Burnout Contest you will continue in and infield entry/exit will be through the tunnel on the east side of the track in between turns 1 and 2. You will need to drop any trailers prior to entering the infield.

MB Speedway Infield Traffic Layout for Participants
Note the red arrows indicating the participant entrance for those driving their cars in either the Fun Runs, Autocross, and/or the Burnout Contest. You will enter/exit the infield through the tunnel between Turn 1 and Turn 2. Once you have come out of the tunnel parking will be in the areas marked in black. Please do not block through-traffic areas at any time! There will be NO parking in the Autocross staging area or Sponsors/Vendor area this year. When you have completed a turn in either the Autocross or Fun Runs you are asked to follow the flow of traffic and return to the designated parking area. This will maintain flow and give a better chance for more runs in either event. Also pay close attention to those areas designated by black dashed lines. These "lanes" are for the flow of traffic and can not be blocked.

The RED arrows show the Fun Runs entrance and exit. For the Fun Runs you will enter pit road near Turn 3 (see orange arrows) and be lined up by MB Speedway Staff on Pit Road. MB Speedway Staff will direct cars on/off the track in turns 1 and 2 as if you were getting back on track during a race. You will exit the track after your Fun Runs (you should get 3 full laps) as you come out of Turn 2 and return to the parking area. From there you may get back in line.

The entrance for the designated Autocross area is shown by BLUE arrows. Please note that the Entrance/Exit for the Autocross is the same as it was in 2016. This worked well and did aid in the flow into/out of the Autocross Area. When you complete your Autocross lap, you will return to the parking area. From there you may get back in line.

Note: This year, no through traffic will be allowed in the Sponsor/Vendor area.

As always, there will be no spectators allowed to stand on Pit Road. We also ask that you keep a safe distance from the infield walls while cars are on the Speedway. We hope these modifications will help produce a much safer and smoother event.
    Thanks,
    MW Staff

MB Speedway staff will be available at Tuesday's Meet-n-Greet to pre-register participants for Wednesday's track events. This helps move the line faster when entering MB Speedway
