    Default 04 Project

My wife was backing out of the driveway yesterday, and she was in a hurry. Only problem was that she didn't notice my car behind her. So she broke my front bumper. Her car is fine, and it is just my bumper that is broken.

So my 2012 project will be fixing my bumper, and hopefully getting my quarter panels repainted, as the clear has started to peel off (darn you Ford paint).

I started removing the broken fiberglass, and I resined it back together this morning. I will do a few layers of fiberglass cloth later.

Ouch. That stinks! I know my biggest fear is getting into an accident and messing up any part of the body. At least yours was a low speed collision.
Let's see some pictures of your body skills! I have no idea how to fiberglass and stuff.

Thank man. I got the broken parts put back together. And reinforced the inside with fiberglass.

Now I just have to finish sanding the paint, and then I can start to bondo the bad parts.

I got the old paint stripped off.

Later today I will sand and start the bondo process. I'm hoping to have it painted and put back on by the end of the week.

On another note I got new LED lights and covers for my license plate lights. New vs old:

It looks way better in person.

I looked at the light number, and did a search on ebay for LEDs.

In other news. I got my bumper Bondo'ed sanded and primed, and did some more touch up Bondo.

I'll do a finer sand tonight, and hopefully it will be ready for paint.

Sweet. Looking forward to seeing them.

I got the base coat done last night.

I just finished the clear coat.

Once the clear fully cures I'll get some better pictures of it. I'm hoping to have it back on tomorrow.

Went to the local paint shop. Finishmasters. Told them the paint code for my car, they double checked, and mixed it right up. Got the car all washed last night. I'm going to do the wax in a little bit, right before I put the bumper on.

Nice job on the bumper, glad to see you got it fixed so fast. Good luck with everything else, hope you can get those quarter panels painted soon. Looking forward to seeing the car again this summer.

Thanks. I'm hoping to get the quarter panels done by early June. That should give them plenty of time to be ready for MW.

I finally had time to start on my quarter panels. This is how bad the left side was:

I sanded for a few hours and this is how it looked after I rinsed all of the dust off:

I Just got the primer done, but by the time I had everything cleaned up it was too dark for any pictures.

I also ordered a set of HID headlight bulbs. 8000K
